the VI Additional District Judge P Sridhar Rao sentenced C. Kishore to death for murder. According to the public prosecutor, Kishore murdered fellow Puttur Government College student Kalpana in Kukaladoddi forest, in the Renigunta Police Station limits in November 2004.
The two were involved in a love affair. Kishore planned to steal Kalpana’s gold earrings and bangles to get money, and on the way to Kodur they stopped at a forest and he smashed her head with a boulder. Passers by, who saw the girl lying in a pool of blood, took her to SVR Ruia Hospital where she died two days later.
