India's eastern state of Bihar was considering training prisoners to become hangmen so it could deal with the convicts it had on death row, State Jail Minister Raghvendra Pratap Singh said.Sixty-five convicts in the state faced capital punishment and the Supreme Court had already dismissed some of their appeals against the sentence.
"In view of the circumstances, we will require hangmen for execution," the Jail minister said.
"A proposal is under our active consideration to recruit some prisoners suitable for the job and we will train them accordingly," he added.
