INDIA MAN AWARDED DEATH SENTENCE FOR MURDER

in Jalandhar, India, Additional District and Sessions Judge Karnail Singh found Sushil Kumar guilty of murder and sentenced him to death. According to the prosecution, Kumar murdered his wife Pooja, 25, and children Jatin, 6, and Sofia, 4, on March 3, 2005 in his house in Rasilla nagar in the Basti Danishmanda area. To make it seem like a robbery and avoid suspicion, Kumar himself consumed poison. Kumar was arrested after his brother-in-law Sukhdev claimed he had been harassing his sister Pooja and had strained relations with her. Investigations revealed Kumar was unemployed, a gambler and drug addict.
