INDIA: FOUR SIBLINGS AMONG FIVE AWARDED DEATH FOR TRIPLE MURDER

four siblings were among the five people sentenced to death by a court in Meerut, India for murdering three people over a land dispute four years ago. Additional District Judge Subodh Kumar pronounced the sentence on four brothers - Khalid, Nadim, Moimuddim, Munna - and one Tahir for killing Nasiruddin, Mohd Hasin and Ghulam Allauddin. The incident occurred when Nasiruddin, with whom the family of the four brothers had a land dispute, was on way to buy a coffin for his mother who had died on June 7, 2003. The four along with Tahir fatally shot him near Gulzar mosque in Kotwali area of the city. They also shot and killed two persons from the crowd who approached them after hearing the gunshot fearing an attack on them. Three others were also injured in the incident.
