three men were given death sentences by a special Tada court in India for the 1993 Mumbai bombings, taking the number of persons awarded capital punishment in the case to six. Asgar Mukadam (42), Shahnawaz Qureshi (41) and Mohammad Shoaib Ghansar (38) were sentenced to death for planting two bombs that killed 27 people on March 12, 1993. Mukadam, who worked as a manager for Tiger Memon, and Qureshi, parked an RDX-laden van at Plaza theatre at Dadar that killed 10 people, injured 36 and damaged property worth Rs 87 lakh. Ghansar, who is Mukadam’s cousin, parked an RDX-laden scooter at the junction of Shaikh Memon street in Zaveri Bazaar area that killed 17 people, injured 57, and damaged property worth Rs 1.2.
