a Sessions Court in Goa, India, sentenced to death Sarvanand Gaoncar after finding him guilty of murdering an elderly couple. According to the prosecution, the 35-year-old labourer stabbed to death Rayu Phaldesai, 70, and his wife Shantu, 65, in Vontim village on June 28, on suspicion that Phaldesai had developed illicit relations with his wife.
