BasNews, an independent news agency based in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, reported that Iranian authorities, “the week before,” had carried out the execution by hanging of seven Kurds accused of drug trafficking in the Kurdish Iranian city of Baneh, on the border with Iraqi Kurdistan. According to the report, Iranian authorities revealed that the men had sold over 100 kilos of drugs and murdered two people. They were executed in a public hanging in the city centre, BasNews said.
