an additional district and sessions judge in Lahore, Pakistan, convicted a man of murder and sentenced him to death. Another accused was acquitted. The court also issued warrants for a third man in the case. The judge directed convict Rashid Butt to pay Rs200,000 compensation to heirs of the deceased. The judge said if the convict did not pay the compensation, he would undergo six months imprisonment. The prosecution said Rashid Butt and Ashraf alias Teddy had shot Sabir Hussain on November 11, 2006. Ashraf was acquitted.
