A fast track court in Godhra in the Indian state of Gujarat, sentenced to death Ratansinh alias Anupsinh Chauhan after convicting him of raping and murdering a six year old girl on August 16, 2003.
The incident occurred in Bhamiyya village near Godhra when Chauhan lured the girl into his house and raped her.
He was then alleged to have taken her to a nearby field and killed her by smashing a stone on her head.
