14 Lors killed during protests
In Nurabad between January 8 and 10, 2026.
Hengaw has verified the identities of all those killed by Iranian government forces using live ammunition and lethal force. Further details are provided below.

Deadly crackdown following funeral procession
Large crowds gathered to mourn Kamyab Ahmadi, Shahrokh Zar', and Mehrzad Nazari, who had been killed two days earlier, on Thursday, January 8. Following the funeral procession on Saturday, January 10, demonstrators marched toward the city center, where they briefly took control of the courthouse building.
Government forces responded by encircling the area and opening fire with live ammunition, targeting protesters positioned in the streets and on surrounding rooftops. Witnesses reported that snipers fired directly at demonstrators, striking many in the face, head, chest, and abdomen.
Several wounded protesters who sought shelter inside nearby shops were shot again at close range, while others were forcibly transferred to the courthouse and later moved to detention facilities in Shiraz. Some have remained missing since then.

Victims killed on January 8
- Reza Shahrivar, 23, was shot in the heart and killed.
- Shahrokh Zar', 20, who had recently become engaged, was shot dead. His funeral drew massive crowds and anti-government chants.
- Arman Gorjian, 19, from Baba Meydan-e Sofla, was shot in the heart and killed.

- Reza Asadi was shot and killed by government forces.
- Mehrzad Nazari, 28, died from severe internal bleeding caused by a gunshot wound to the chest. Government forces attempted to seize his body, but residents intervened, allowing his burial to proceed amid widespread protests.

- Saeed Zar', 36, a father of two, was shot in the head. Authorities forced his family to sign a pledge of silence before allowing his burial.
- Mehrshad Qaedi, a young man from Nurabad, was killed by direct gunfire during protests.
