FOUR EXECUTED IN CHINA: STATE MEDIA
July 18, 2008: Four people were executed in east China for manslaughter and drug smuggling, state media reported. Chen Jinchun, a 38-year-old farmer from Fuzhou in Fujian province, was convicted of killing six people, the official Xinhua news agency said. Chen went into hiding in the mountains after the killings, Xinhua said, and more than 10,000 police and villagers were mobilised to search for him last year.
