November 30, 2006: a criminal court in Doha, capital of Qatar, sentenced two Nepalese and an Indian to death after they were found guilty of forcing an Indonesian maid into prostitution and killing her. A fourth man of Nepalese nationality was sentenced to imprisonment for his role in the case.
According to court details, the convicts knew the Indonesian maid and had physical relations with her. They later forced her into prostitution and used a garage in the cityâs industrial area for the purpose. One night, the four brought many customers to the garage with the result that the maid began bleeding. They put her in a car and began looking for a doctor who would treat her. But while one of the convicts was driving the car, there was a heated exchange between the woman and one of them over money matters. The man took out a knife in a rage and stabbed her.
