November 26, 2023:

November 26, 2023 - Names of 50 female political prisoners in Iran’s Evin prison
A list of the names of more than 50 female political prisoners imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin’s prison
Iran Human Rights Society, on Saturday 25th of November 2023, prepared a list of the names of a number of women political prisoners imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin’s prison along with their charges and convictions. These names were completed and sent to us by colleagues and families of prisoners.
There are about 60 political prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin’s prison. Some of these women prisoners sentenced and some are under temporary and indefinite detention. Among the undecided political prisoners, there are prisoners who arrested for the second time for an unknown reason and not assigned yet.
Many of these women are more than 50 years old and suffer from various diseases such as heart disease, respiratory disease, and also special diseases. Some of the women political prisoners are political prisoners of the 60s who have years of torture and imprisonment in the prisons of the 60s. Some women political prisoners are from the families of martyrs and executed in the sixties.
The women’s ward of Evin prison has a dense population despite its low capacity. Several women political prisoners imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin prison have children, and periodic restrictions on contact and visits cause problems for them.
