IRAN: 7 EXECUTED OVER DRUG, MURDER CHARGES
August 1, 2015: According to official and unofficial reports, a total of seven prisoners were hanged in Iran on July 29 and August 1st.
Two prisoners with drug related charges and one inmate charged with murder were hanged on August 1 in the morning at Lakan Prison in Rasht, according to the public affairs department of Gilanâ€™s office of the Attorney General.Â
The prisoners were identified as â€śS.J.â€ť (58 years old, charged with production and distribution of 500 kilograms of opium), â€śM.M.â€ť (38 years old, charged with possessing 787 grams of heroin), and â€śM.P.â€ť (31 years old, charged with murder).Â
According to HRANA, four prisoners with drug related charges were hanged to death on July 29, in Isfahanâ€™s Dastgerd Prison. (Source: Iran Human Rights, August 1, 2015)
