Members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign went on a hunger strike in 56 different prisons across the country in the 123rd week of this protest movement. This widespread hunger strike has been formed in protest against the new wave of crackdowns, pressure on the families of political prisoners, and the rising trend of executions, including the recent hanging of two political prisoners in Qezel-Hesar Prison. Warning of the danger of the imminent execution of several other political prisoners, the strikers have called on the honorable people of Iran and international human rights organizations to take effective action to stop these extrajudicial killings.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign in the 123rd week in 56 different prisons

As is evident, the economic situation of society is worsening day by day, and the government, in the deadlock of incurable crises and to prevent the explosion of public anger and the spark of any uprising and revolt, does not stop suppression and executions; and in its media, they pre-emptively attribute the destined uprising to foreign countries to justify the suppression and killing of the people; the regime’s scenario in facing any uprising, including the past January uprising, is of this nature.

Unfortunately, last week, two Kurdish compatriot brothers from the “Yarsan” community named Mojtaba and Meysam Veisi lost their lives as a result of the Pasdaran’s (Revolutionary Guards) attack on their hiding place. They had been pursued by repressive forces during the January uprising and were forced to turn to a clandestine life.

Recently, the notorious Ministry of Intelligence has also summoned and detained many families of political prisoners and opponents of execution through threats, insults, and enticements to force them into silence.

Yesterday, two political prisoners of the January 2026 uprising named Ashkan Maleki and Mehrdad Mohammadi Nia were also hanged in Qezel-Hesar Prison, joining the ranks of the gallows-bound and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom.

This week, the death sentence of Zahra Tabari, a political prisoner held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, was reconfirmed; two political prisoners from Bukan named Raouf Sheikh Maroufi and Mohammad Faraji were also sentenced to death; and death sentences were issued for Benyamin Naghdi, one of the detainees of the January 2026 uprising, as well as two prisoners who are brothers named Hasan and Hosein Amiri, by Branch 26 under Judge Afshari. All of these dear ones and many other prisoners whose names have not been published are in serious danger of execution.

We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, once again call upon all prisoners across the country, the honorable and aware people of Iran, and awakened human consciences to raise their voices of protest against the extrajudicial and brutal executions of the dictatorial government of Iran, which are issued and carried out without the right to a fair trial, and we call on international human rights bodies to take effective measures to prevent further killings of prisoners.
