On murder and drug-related charges
Concurrent with nationwide protests in Iran and amid a widespread internet shutdown across the country, the execution of at least 52 prisoners has been reported in 42 different prisons. These individuals had been sentenced on non-political and non-security-related accusations.
Their sentences were carried out between January 5 to 14, 2026. These executions took place under conditions in which public access to information was severely restricted, and independent oversight of judicial proceedings and the implementation of sentences was effectively impossible.
A review of the information received by HRANA indicates that despite the imposition of severe communication restrictions nationwide, the implementation of death sentences continued without interruption.
Some of the executions carried out between the 5th and 8th had already been reported by other sources and taken up by HoC.
Based on these findings, the executions were carried out in at least 42 prisons across various provinces of Iran, covering a wide range of geographical areas.
On January 5:
- Mohammadjavad Rasouli executed in Nowshahr Prison on murder charges;
On January 6:
-Arsalan Arabi was executed in Rasht Prison on murder charges;
On January 7:
-Mahyar Mohammadi was executed in Sanandaj Prison on murder charges,
- Ahmad Hemmati was executed in Gonabad Prison on drug-related charges,
- Khodarahm Mehri was executed in Esfarayen Prison on drug-related charge,
On January 8:
- Vali Karambeigi-Nejad was executed in Quchan Prison on drug-related charges
On January 9:
as is the Islamic tradition, no executions were reported on Friday 9.
On January 10:
- Mostafa Sheikhi was executed in Khorramabad Prison on murder charges,
- Samyar Emkani was executed in Kermanshah Prison on murder charges,
- Ebrahim Rayati was executed in Hamedan Prison on murder charges,
- Bahman Shokri was executed in Dezful Prison on murder charges,
- Masoud Mardani was executed in Yasuj Prison on murder charges,
- Mehdi Babaei was executed in Nahavand Prison on drug-related charges on January 10,
- Sasan Amini and an unidentified man were executed in Karaj Prison on drug-related charges,
- Reza Shahmohammadi, Younes Parsa and an unidentified man were executed in Aligudarz Prison on murder charges.
On January 11:
- Simrad Zali was executed in Borujerd Prison on murder charges,
- Ayin Mousavi was executed in Qom Prison on murder charges,
- Hamid Khatib was executed in Ardabil Prison on murder charges,
- Jabbar Gholipour was executed in Qazvin Prison on murder charges,
- Alireza Bagheri was executed in Tabriz Prison on murder charges,
- Behzad Niazi and an unidentified man were executed in Bandar Abbas Prison on murder charges,
- Abdolhossein Zakipour was executed in Arak Prison on drug-related charges,
- Mola Joozipour was executed in Semnan Prison on drug-related charges.
On January 12:
- Ali Teymouri was executed in Gorgan Prison on murder charges,
- Parviz Khani was executed in Neyshabur Prison on murder charges,
- Sobhan Ghasemi was executed in Dorud Prison on murder charges,
- Hossein Jalili was executed in Zanjan Prison on murder charges,
- Javad Bahrami was executed in Saveh Prison on murder charges,
- Sajad Bamari was executed in Kerman Prison on murder charges,
- Habibollah Shakeri was executed in Kashan Prison on murder charges.
- Sattar Ahmadi and 3unidentified prisoners were executed in Isfahan Prison on murder charges.
On January 13:
- Sohrab Fathi was executed on murder charges in Birjand Prison,
- Morteza Gholami was executed on murder charges in Ilam Prison,
- Mohammad-Amin Boghlani was executed on murder charges in Ahvaz Prison,
- Hamed Latifi was executed on murder charges in Yazd Prison,
- Najafali Navabi was executed on murder charges in Jiroft Prison,
- Jalal Bakhtiari was executed on murder charges in Borazjan Prison.
- Karim Piri was executed in Bam Prison on drug charges,
- Keyomars Sanaei was executed in Khaf Prison on drug charges,
- Aziz Alipanahi was executed in Yazd Prison on drug charges
- An unidentified prisoner was executed in Yazd on non-political and non-security-related charges.
On January 14:
- Dariush Bozorgi was executed on murder charges in Mahabad Prison;
- Mostafa Azizi and Arman Mohammadian were executed on murder charges in Kashmar Prison;
- Yaser Akbari was executed on murder charges in Shahrekord Prison;
- Khosrow Abdi was executed on murder charges in Sabzevar Prison.
Further details, including the identification of seven of the prisoners, are still under review by HRANA.
As of the time this report was compiled, the executions of these prisoners have not been announced by authorities.
