LA SITUAZIONE IN MYANMAR A 100 GIORNI DAL COLPO DI STATO

Sono almeno 783 le persone uccise dall'esercito birmano dal colpo di stato dello scorso febbraio fino all’11 maggio, secondo l'Associazione di Assistenza per i Prigionieri Politici (AAPP).
Il gruppo ha registrato due ulteriori uccisioni nello Stato di Kachin il 10 maggio, documentate l'11 maggio.
“Attualmente un totale di 3.859 persone sono in stato di detenzione. Per 1.581 di loro sono stati emessi mandati di arresto, 20 sono stati condannati a morte e 14 sono stati condannati a tre anni di reclusione”, si legge in un rapporto.
La giunta militare del Myanmar resta al potere a 100 giorni dal colpo di stato, continuando a utilizzare varie forme di violenza e tortura contro i civili.
"Durante questi 100 giorni, i civili sono stati esposti a varie forme di persecuzione e le loro proprietà sono state saccheggiate e distrutte quotidianamente", ha denunciato AAPP.
Il gruppo della società civile ha detto che le sparatorie non provocate da parte delle forze della giunta stanno peggiorando di giorno in giorno.
Il veterinario Sai Aik Kwan è stato arrestato l'8 maggio dalle forze della giunta.
I soldati lo hanno legato, gli hanno sparato alla testa e hanno lasciato il sfuo corpo vicino a uno scarico.
Dopo che la sua famiglia ha recuperato il corpo, i militari hanno confiscato il corpo il giorno del suo funerale. Lo hanno restituito con la testa smembrata.
"Sul certificato di morte, hanno scritto che (Sai) è morto per overdose di droga, mentre è chiaro che è stato brutalmente assassinato", ha detto AAPP.
Le forze della giunta continuano inoltre a opprimere i dipendenti pubblici coinvolti nel movimento di disobbedienza civile.
"Sembra che i civili siano stati lasciati soli nel difendere se stessi e porre fine a questa dittatura", ha detto il gruppo.
Inoltre, i settori economico, politico, sociale e sanitario sono tutti sull'orlo del collasso.
"I civili non hanno avuto accesso all'assistenza sanitaria e il monitoraggio del COVID-19 è stato interrotto, mettendo la popolazione a rischio di una terza ondata di pandemia", ha aggiunto.
