SOMALIA: SOMALILAND EXECUTES SIX INMATES CONVICTED OF KILLINGS
November 29, 2020: Somaliland security forces on 26 November 2020 executed six inmates by firing squad after being convicted of committed deliberate killings. Regional courts in Hargeisa & Buroa previously sentenced the six inmates to death and the appeals they lodged were exhausted. A statement released by the prosecution of the execution, the executed were all convicted of deliberate killings. The six prisoners were listed as below: Yasiin Mohamed Yusuf, Sharmarke Sahal Ogle, Qulle Mohamed Elmi, Khalid Abdi Haydar, Khadar Mohamed Warsame, Abdikariim Mohamed Mahdi. The execution, by firing squad, was carried out at Mandhera prison some 106 kilometres east of the capital Hargeisa and approximately a 2-hour drive distant.
