IRAQ: CRIMINAL COURT OF KARBALA ISSUES DEATH SENTENCE ON MURDERERS OF SOLDIER MUSTAFA AL-ATHARI

November 10, 2015: Criminal Court of Karbala has sentenced to death by hanging on four terrorists belonging to ISIS organization convicted of killing soldier, Mustafa al-Athari.
The head of the court, Mahmoud Abbas Hadi said in a statement received by Shafaq News, that Media Center for the judiciary said that "The court has considered the case of the four accused of killing the soldier Mustafa al-Athari."
Hadi said that "the evidence was sufficient to prove that those accused have committed the crime," pointing out that "the victim was within the security forces and clashed in an armed confrontation against ISIS terrorist organization in al-Hayakil area affiliated to Fallujah district."
He noted that al-Athari had been wounded in his leg, which led to his capture by the terrorist group Judge Hadi mentioned the heinous way that was carried out by those terrorists as they started roaming the soldier in Fallujah city before they execute Athari then hung him on the bridge that links between Fallujah and Saqlawiyah districts for 3 days. "
The Judge of the Criminal Court of Karbala stressed that "the court ruled all convicted to death by hanging in accordance with Article 4/1 of the anti-terrorism law. (Sources: english.shafaaq.com, 10/11/2015)
