TOBAGO: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE
July 22, 2015: Uriah Woods was sentenced to death in Tobago for the murder of his wife Sandra Miller and attempted murder of his son Darion.Â
Woods was charged in 2005 with the murder of his wife and attempting to kill his son Darion.
Miller was stabbed approximately 27 times during a domestic dispute with Woods, a fisherman.
The mother of seven later died at the Scarborough Hospital.
A 12-member jury found Uriah Woods guilty of the murder of his wife Sandra Miller in 2005.
Woods was represented by attorney Kim Wright while Maria Lyons represented the state in the matter.
Woods appeared before Justice Norton Jack while the complainant was retired sergeant Peter Wallace assisted by Corporal Roland Taylor of the homicide bureau of investigations. (Sources: looptt.com, 22/07/2015)
