ARABIA SAUDITA: CONDANNATI A MORTE 26 DISSIDENTI

June 18, 2014: l'Arabia Saudita ha condannato a morte ventisei persone con accuse come l’aver pronunciato discorsi critici nei confronti del regime di Al Saud e partecipato alle proteste contro la famiglia regnante, ha appreso la Press TV.
Tra i condannati a morte figura un importante religioso sciita, lo Sceicco Nimr al-Nimr, che fu attaccato, ferito e arrestato dalle forze di sicurezza saudite l'8 luglio 2012, mentre tornava a casa nella regione di Qatif, nella Provincia Orientale saudita. E’ stato accusato di aver attentato alla sicurezza del Paese con discorsi anti-governativi, insultando il re saudita nei sermoni del Venerdì, e difendendo prigionieri politici.
L’attivista sciita Kamel Abbas al-Ahmed, che è stato in carcere per aver criticato il regime e lottato per la libertà religiosa e contro la discriminazione religiosa, è un altro dei condannati.
Nel 2009 Ahmed aveva respinto le critiche di Adel al-Kelbani, l'imam della Grande Moschea della Mecca, secondo cui i musulmani sciiti sono infedeli.
Dopo i commenti di Kelbani, Ahmed entrò in un gruppo di attivisti politici comprendente scrittori e intellettuali che rilasciò una dichiarazione secondo cui le autorità saudite sono responsabili per la discriminazione settaria contro gli sciiti nel Regno. Fazil Halal al-Jami 'e Hassan Ahmad al-Saeed sono altri due dei condannati a morte con l'accusa di aver agito contro la sicurezza nazionale, organizzato manifestazioni e scioperi anti-regime, e realizzato ordigni incendiari da lanciare contro le forze saudite durante le proteste.
Ali Jalan al-Jaroudi è stato condannato a morte per la partecipazione a manifestazioni anti-regime, rapporti con la rete di notizie in lingua araba Al-Alam e la preparazione di striscioni e cartelli di condanna del regime di Al Saud da usare in manifestazioni anti-regime.
Altri condannati a morte sono Mukhallaf Daham al-Shemri, Mortaji Abu Al Saud, Hossein Ali al-Barbari e Al-Seyyed Mortaji al-Alawi, che ammainarono la bandiera nazionale saudita posizionata sul tetto di una scuola.
Organizzazioni internazionali per i diritti sostengono che l'Arabia Saudita attui politiche repressive che soffocano la libertà di espressione, associazione e riunione, nonostante le critiche della comunità internazionale.
Manifestazioni pacifiche e incontri sono vietati e molte persone sono state incarcerate solo per la pubblicazione di messaggi critici delle autorità di governo sui social media. (Fonti: presstv.ir, 18/06/2014)
