SINGAPORE: YISHUN TRIPLE MURDER CONVICT TO HANG
November 30, 2012: The Chinese national who killed three women in a flat in Yishun three years ago was this morning sentenced to hang in Singapore, after High Court Judge Chan Seng Oon found Wang Zhijian guilty of the murder of one of the three women.
Wang, 46, had been tried for the murder of his lover, Madam Zhang Meng, 42; her daughter Feng Jianyu, 17; and their flatmate Yang Jie, 36, in their Yishun flat.
Wang also slashed Madam Yang's daughter, Li Meilin, who was then 15, during the attack.
In his verdict, Justice Chan accepted Wang's defence of diminished responsibility for the killing of Madam Zhang and her daughter Feng. The judge found Wang guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in these two instances. But the Justice Chan found Wang guilty of murdering Yang. (Sources: CHANNEL NEWSASIA, 30/11/2012)
