PAKISTAN: ONE GETS DEATH PENALTY
June 16, 2009: Additional district and session judge Kasur Aaqil Hussain Chohan awarded the death penalty to Allah Wassaia for the murder of a youth named Mehnga in Joorra village, Pakistan. The court also ordered him to pay Rs 100,000 as compensation to the heirs of the deceased person. Wassaia allegedly shot Mehnga to death over minor issue in 2007.
