SOMALIA: AL SHABAAB EXECUTES A MAN IN BAIDOA
June 9, 2009: Al Shabaab militants, who control Mogadishu’s Baidoa town, the former seat of Somalia’s Parliament, executed a man accused of killing another man in the town.
Sheik Hassan Adan, the deputy Bay region judge, told reporters that they sentenced Hussein Hassan Nor to death. It is the second execution that al Shabaab administrators in Baidoa fulfilled since they seized the town in late January 2009. (Sources: Mareeg, 08/06/2009)
