23 November 1999 :
On November 23, Samai Pan-intara, 59, a convicted drug trafficker, was executed by machine gun at Bang Khwang prison along with 2 convicted murderers. This was the first female prisoner executed in 20 years. She was arrested with 4kg of heroin in 1994. The 2 men shot were Prayuth Pholpanthu, 38, convicted of killing a hospital director and a doctor in 1993, and Myanmar national Htaho Pauy, who killed 4 members of his employer's family with an axe in 1996.
