a female college student named Lanlan, was sentenced to death in China for drug smuggling, Strait Herald reported. Lanlan began to get involved in drug trafficking after meeting her foreign boyfriend, OBI, online 2 years ago. OBI, was a drug dealer that ordered Lanlan to organize others to conduct illegal drug trafficking. Driven by high payment, Xiaoyuan, a friend of Lanlan, together with 2 other friends, became drug mules of OBI April, 2009. They helped OBI bring raw drug materials back home from Thailand, Malaysia and Macao. Xiaoyuan was seized by customs officers for carrying 1,085 grams of heroin hidden in 2 pairs of platform shoes and 4 boxes of chocolate in her luggage at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on 26th July, 2009. According to Xiamen Intermediate Court, Xiaoyuan and her friends were sentenced to death for drug smuggling with a two-year suspension of execution.
