SINGAPORE: KHO JABING PUT TO DEATH
May 20, 2016: Convicted murderer, Kho Jabing had his death sentence executed around 3.30pm at Changi Prison Complex.
"Jabing is undergoing the death sentence now... let us pray that his soul is calm and God brings Jabing to heaven," his sister Jumai Kho posted on her Facebook this afternoon.
The Sarawakian had failed to secure a stay of execution on his death sentence after the Singapore Court of Appeal turned down his last minute application earlier in the morning.
Jumai told Bernama recently that her brother was expected to be laid to rest at the Mile 1 Muslim Cemetery, Jalan Kuala Baram, Miri in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.
The 32-year-old male Malaysian national Jabing had converted from Christianity to Islam in prison and chose Muhammad as his Muslim name.
Jabing's execution was supposed to be carried out by dawn on May 20 but his counsel managed to grant an interim stay of execution late last night.
The Malaysian High Commission is now preparing and working with the Sarawak state government to bring back Jabing's remains scheduled for Saturday.
On her latest posting, Jumai wrote: "Bringing my elder brother's remains to the hospital." (Sources: Bernama, 20/05/2016)
