PAKISTAN: ANOTHER MURDER CONVICT HANGED IN MULTAN
March 24, 2015: a murder convict was hanged at the Multan Central Jail, bringing to 53 the number of convicts put to death since Pakistan resumed executions in December 2014 after Taliban militants gunned down 154 people, most of them children, at a military-run school in Peshawar.
Nasrullah, who hailed from Muzafargarh, was awarded the death sentence by a district and sessions court in Muzaffargarh, after being convicted of murdering another man in 1994.
His appeals had been rejected by higher and superior courts. President of Pakistan had also turned down the mercy plea of the death row prisoner. (Sources: thenews.com.pk, pakistanherald.com, Hands Off Cain, 24/03/2015)
