The Senate Courts of Justice Committee has rejected a measure to allow the death penalty for those who would kill fire marshals, emergency workers, fire investigators and a host of other first responders. The House passed a similar bill earlier this month, but it likely will suffer the same fate when it gets to the Senate committee.(source: Associated Press, Charlottesville Daily Progress, 15/02/2010)
