Michael James Perry was executed. Perry, 28, white, was found guilty of killing Sandra Stotler, 50, on Oct. 24, 2001, to steal her red Camaro convertible. Perry confessed two other murders the day Sandra Stotler was killed: those of her son, 16-year-old Adam Stotler, and his friend, 18-year-old Jeremy Richardson. Perry becomes the 14th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 460th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on Dec. 7, 1982. Perry becomes the 30th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1218th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
