20 April 2010 :
Judge Raymond Angelini of the 187th District Court (Bexar County) sentenced Armando Leza, 32, to death. Leza and co-defendant Delorez Treviño, 33, both confessed to the April 4, 2007 murder of 57-year-old Caryl Allen inside her home after robbing her to support their drug habit. Treviño pleaded guilty to first-degree felony murder last year in a deal with prosecutors that allowed her to avoid the death penalty. She also agreed to testify at her boyfriend Armando Leza's trial, although prosecutors never called her to the stand. Under the plea bargain, Treviño will be sentenced to life and will be eligible for parole in 30 years.
