Roderick Davie, 38, black, was executed at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. Davie admitted killing Tracey Jefferys and John Coleman and of seriously injuring John Everett on June 27, 1991, at a warehouse. Davie had been fired from the warehouse three months earlier. Davie becomes the 7th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Ohio and the 40th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in1999. Davie becomes the 34th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1222nd overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
