A Livingston County jury recommended the death penalty for Kevin Wayne Dunlap. Dunlap pleaded guilty Feb. 9 to murdering Kayla Williams, 17, Kortney McBurney Frensley, 14, and Ethan Frensley, 5, in their home on Oct. 15, 2008. The panel returned six death sentences, one each for the killing of each child and one each for having kidnapped each of the murder victims. He also admitted he attacked the children's mother. Dunlap, a former Army soldier, also pleaded guilty to rape, kidnapping, arson and tampering with evidence. Circuit Judge C.A. Woodall III said he would formally sentence Dunlap on March 19.
