15 January 2010 :

Judge Kenneth Twisselman confirmed the December 7, 2009 (see) death penalty recommendation and sentenced Timothy Titus Rodriguez to death. Rodriguez was convicted of 1st-degree murder, attempted murder, robbery, burglary  in the May 2, 2007 killing of Thelma Long, 90, and the near killing of her daughter, Cathryn Reeves, 60. Reeves later identified Rodriguez as the killer. Blood and DNA evidence linked Rodriguez to the killing.
