Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kathleen Kennedy upheld the June 17 jury’s recommendation, and sentenced Steven Anthony Jones, 41, black, to death. Jones was convicted May 28 of first-degree murder for Neil Hacker's November 2004 shooting death during a robbery and the December 2004 beating death of Sharon Ann Willis, 42.(sources: Los Angeles Times, 14/08/2009)
