El Dorado County Superior Court Judge James R. Wagoner sentenced David Charles Zanon, 41, white, to death for the July 31, 2007 killing of California Highway Patrol officer Douglas “Scott” Russell. On September 16 (see) a jury gave the death penalty recommendation.(source: KCRA News, 12/12/2010)
