USA - Florida. Ysrael Granda sentenced to death
June 27, 2024: June 27, 2024 - Florida. Ysrael Granda sentenced to death A Miami-Dade jury has recommended a death sentence for a man who was found guilty of murder from a complicated love triangle over a decade ago. Eight out of 12 jurors on Thursday 27 recommended the death sentence for Ysrael Granda, who was convicted of first-degree murder in connection to the death of 42-year-old Jose Soto in Miami Lakes in 2012. Granda, from his jail cell, ordered his girlfriend's new partner, Soto, to be killed. While Granda wasn’t the triggerman, prosecutors argued that the slaying was “cold and calculated”. They described Granda as manipulative and remorseless. It wasn’t his first time at the plate in the crime world. And they blamed his girlfriend, Lisiana Quintero. She pleaded guilty to helping put Soto in the frame for execution and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The actual gunman was Jonathan “Jonny Rico” Rico who was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, but not first-degree murder. Rico managed to avoid the death penalty and now awaits his long prison sentence.
