IRAN - Maher Eyluli and Ali Abbaszadeh executed in Shiraz on January 12
January 12, 2023: Maher Eyluli and Ali Abbaszadeh executed in Shiraz on January 12. According to information obtained by IHR, two men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on January 12. Their identities have been established as 37-year-old Maher Eyluli and Ali Abbaszadeh who were arrested in the same case over two years ago. They were sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court and for murder by the Criminal Court. They appear to have been executed for the murder charges. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Mahed Eyluli was father of one, his wife had divorced him after he was sentenced to death.” At the time of writing, neither of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
