ALGERIA. 10 SENTENCED TO DEATH IN ABSENTIA FOR TERRORISM
November 6, 2007: in Algeria, the Tizi Ouzou Criminal Court sentenced 10 to death in absentia for terrorism. The 10 were indicted for being behind the assassination of nine district security agents in Beni Douala after being ambushed in June 04, 2003. According to the referral decision, in December 2003 security services arrested two terrorists during a routine patrol in their possession two guns belonging to two policemen assassinated in the aforementioned ambush. Investigations with the arrested terrorists allowed identifying the executors of the assassination of the nine policemen. They allegedly belong to the Ennour Squad led by the terrorist âI.Mâ.
