CHINA. WOMAN EXECUTED FOR ORGANISING DRUG RING
June 24, 2005: China executed Wu Xiaohui, 24, a key woman drug trafficker who had left a gruesome tale of smuggling and murders, the 'China Daily' reported. Wu, the ringleader of a drug selling gang, hailed from southwest China's Yunnan Province. She was held responsible for the deaths of two drugs mules who died when they failed to pass heroin out of their bodies naturally, and were poisoned, the Shanghai Railway Intermediate People's Court said. She was also convicted of trafficking almost two kilograms of drugs. The court had sentenced Wu to death in September. Two of her accomplices were jailed for life.
