BANGLADESH: 3 TO HANG FOR MURDER

In Bangladesh, Madaripur District and Sessions Judge Bimal Chandra Sikdar said three convicts will be hanged to death.
The convicts are Nazrul Chowkidar, 25, his brother Didar Chowkidar, 38, and Mannan Chowdkidar, 28—all hailing from West Shikarmongol under Kalkini Upazila.
Nazrul is absconding.
The murdered Hafizur Rahman was the cousin of Nazrul and Didar.
Public Prosecutor Sujit Chaterjee said victim Hafizur Rahman had gone missing on Oct 9, 2006.
His body, bearing torture marks, was found at a river island of the Arial Kha near his village Kosba the following day.
Rahman’s hands and legs were found tied. A case was filed with the Kalkini police on Oct 12.
According to case details, Rahman was abducted and killed as he had testified against the convicts in a theft case.
