a High Court sitting in Kano, Nigeria, presided over by Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamasi has sentenced two men to death by hanging for armed robbery. Delivering the judgment in Kano, the judge averred that the prosecution counsel proved the case of armed robbery beyond reasonable doubt against the suspects, Shehu Mohammed (alias Baban Rasha) and Nura Bello. The convicts were charged with armed robbery and conspiracy. Mohammed and Bello were said to have entered the residence of Professor Ibrahim Ayagi on the 12 November, 2005, bound his hands and inflicted bodily injuries on him which caused him to pass out.  They were said to have stolen N500, 000 and jewelries valued at N900, 000 at the time of the robbery.
