AFGHANISTAN: KIDNAPPERS EXECUTED IN HERAT PROVINCE

May 18, 2013: two kidnappers involved in the murder of an 11-year-old boy were hanged in western Herat province of Afghanistan early in the morning.
The execution of the two kidnappers, identified as Jalil Ahmad and Abdul Sami, was approved by President Hamid Karzai.
Ali Sina, who belonged to a wealthy Afghan family of prominent merchants in Herat province, was kidnapped few months back and was killed after receiving ransom from his family.
The hanging took place inside the Herat jail in the presence of a delegation from the Presidency, Attorney General, a religious scholar and the family of Ali Sina.
"I am happy that justice is now being done in Afghanistan and I hope that such incidents don't happen again and the citizens don't feel the pain as I felt," Ali Sina's father Nasir Ahamd Nawrozi said. (Sources: khaama.com, tolonews.com, 18/05/2013)
